Your Gamete, Myself

"Your Gamete, Myself" provoked a few different feelings from me. At first I felt compassion for the girl and her family in the beginning because if the timeline went up in the hallway then everyone would know that they went to an egg donor. Then when I read about the second woman and how she was looking at all the pictures of women to find a perfect egg donor I kind of thought it was humorous because there were all these dfferent kinds of pictures that I didn't think needed to be included. For example, the princess picture was so unnecessary. As I read on and got to the part about why the women didn't just adopt my interest was peaked because that was a question I had myself. I really liked the answer they gave about how they wanted to experience it all and see the traits of at least their husbands in their child's face. Overall, I liked this article it was very interesting.

Response to Facebook: Why I Hate It

This article made me think about the way our society works now days. This article sheds light on the fact that most high school and college students as well as some older and some younger people put facebook before other, more important, things like homework or studying. In that respect, the article provoked a feeling of realization from me because I realized that I spend a lot of time on websites very similar to facebook and it does take away from my, more important, school work. The perfect example of this is that I'm on a website similar to Facebook right now called Myspace while I'm writing this response. While I realize my work is important I also have this "addiction" to the website. My overall impression of this article is that there is definitely a lot of truth in it. And let's be honest with ourselves, who really wants to know the little and odd details about your life that one finds necessary to post of facebook or other similar websites?
